How to
make a link that brings the user quickly back to the top of the page

First, insert an anchor in front of the top line of text. Place your cursor in front of the first word on your page - for example the word How in the title above Click on it.

Go to Insert. Choose Named Anchor.

Type the word top (lower case). An icon that looks like an anchor appears in front of the word How on the web page.

Now type the word top further down the page. Select it and make a link.

Type #top into the space in the dialogue box that appears. This tells the user to go to the anchor you set up earlier.  The # means it's in the same page.

Here endeth the lesson.
