To Create
a Button using IrfanView | ||||

Step 1: Start > Programs > IrfanView Step 2: Image > Create new (empty) image Step 3: Choose the dimensions of the button you want

Step 5: With the cursor, select a section of the button

Step 6: Edit > Insert text into selection

Step 7: Don't forget to choose font and colour

Step 8: This is what Verdana, Size 12, Colour blue looks like on a button called 'reflection'

Step 9: Save as… reflection.gif (into the images folder). (Check out the difference between gif and jpg formats). DO NOT SAVE AS... a BMP file. Each button takes up 4k in space. Step
10: Choose whether you want the background colour of your web page to appear
through the button or not. The blue button below has a white background. The red
one has a transparent background. This is how they look when inserted into different
